NON-AGRICULTURAL EMPLOYMENT
NEW YORK STATE, 1958 - 2000

Estimates of employment in non-agricultural industries are made for the State and the major labor market areas, and counties not within major labor market areas.

METHODOLOGY:
Estimates include all nonfarm wage and salary workers who received pay for any part of the pay period including the 12th of the month. Persons on paid sick leave, paid holiday or paid vacation are included, but those on leave without pay for the entire payroll period are excluded. Persons on the payroll of more than one establishment during the period are counted each time reported. The totals do not include the self-employed, unpaid family workers, or domestics.

REVISIONS: 
Previously released monthly data are subject to revision when new monthly data is released. New benchmark data are released annually and monthly data for the two previous years are revised.
