If you have a fast-track project, our new Build Now - NY program can clear the path for you. The program offers "shovel-ready" sites pre-permitted for building and expansion. Wage, tax, utility and land cost analyses are already prepared for you, as are details on infrastructure, sewer, water and transportation access. We have more than 40 shovel-ready sites available, with more under review.

Telecommunications
New York is connected- boasting one of the most advanced telecommunications systems worldwide, it consists of a competitive statewide network featuring millions of access lines.  Building on our New Innovation and Digital Economy, the New York State Chief Information Officer and the New York State Office for Technology are spearheading an unprecedented approach in planning for the cost efficient expansion and advancement of information technology and its delivery.  While the State’s overall telecommunications infrastructure continues to expand, the focus moving forward is on broadband.  In an effort to ensure all New Yorkers have universal access to high-speed broadband Internet coverage, Governor Paterson has created the Broadband Development and Deployment Council.  The Council is tasked with the creation and execution of a communications policy to bring all New Yorkers into the digital information age and connect them to the information economy.  More than seven billion in stimulus funding will be used to build the next generation of broadband networks, support affordable Internet connections and develop digital literacy training programs for low-income households.
