IntroductionCompanies that manufacture
transportation equipment have invested over $2
billion in New York State since 1995. New York

the world's largest engine plant, the world's
largest transfer case plant, a major diesel engine
production facility and numerous companies that

the largest producer of equipment for the transit
industry. Leading manufacturers and re-manufacturers
of transit cars, rail cars, subway cars and buses,
as well as suppliers of transit components, operate
production facilities in the State. New York is
also home to manufacturing facilities of industry-leading
suppliers of high value-added components for automobiles
and light, medium and heavy-duty trucks.

benefit from size of operations; strong, highly
trained, flexible, stable labor forces; easy access
