2000 Census Tract & Municipal Reference Maps
Census Tracts are statistical units
developed by the U.S. Bureau of the Census in cooperation
with local statistical areas committees. They are generally
stable from census to census. The reference maps shown here
are based on the 2000 Census.
Municipalities in New York include all
cities, towns, villages, and Census Designated Places.
Cities, towns, and villages in New York are legally
incorporated units of local government. Census Designated
Places are generally hamlets with no legally recognized
boundaries. The Census Bureau, in cooperation with local
statistical areas committees, have identified many New York
hamlets as Census Designated Places.
