EXPORT COUNSELING AND EDUCATION
Empire State Development offers additional
resources to companies seeking new partners
and opportunities in international markets.
Our International Division offers New York
State businesses customized assessments and
technical assistance to help improve the
export skills of current exporters, and can
provide new global trading skills to
manufacturers and services firms seeking to
enter the export market. ESD Trade
Specialists also work collaboratively with
the U.S. Department of Commerce Export
Assistance Centers and with regional
organizations across New York State to
maximize export assistance to New York State
firms.
ExportNY is a specialized CEO
training program designed to improve a
company’s exporting skills. Conducted
weekly over an eight-month period, ExportNY
brings together various resources to focus
on issues ranging from international
financing and strategic marketing plans to
distributor contracts and differing business
cultures. Export NY includes formal
academic instruction, lectures from
international industry participants, service
training, and one-on-one consulting on the
development of an international business
plan. Since 1998, ESD has partnered with a
number of regional organizations to provide
this service and over 100 companies
throughout New York State have participated.
