Weeks beginning June 18, 2007 and June 25,
2007
In an effort to keep the Atlantic Yards
Community aware of upcoming construction
activities, ESD and Forest City Ratner are
providing the following outline of
anticipated upcoming construction
activities.
Please note: the scope and nature of
activities are subject to change based upon
field conditions.
Long Island Rail Road/Vanderbilt Yard Work
Materials and equipment will be delivered
to the LIRR yard on block 1121 (between
Carlton and Vanderbilt Avenues) in support
of future excavation activities.
Support of Excavation (SOE) contractor to
deliver partial steel order to block 1121.
SOE contractor to mobilize drill rig(s) to
mid-block of block 1121 and east end of

Abatement and Demolition Work
All work described below will comply with
the additional oversight and protocols by
the Department of Buildings (DOB) that were
established on April 30th.
Clean-up and backfill will be completed in
the next two weeks at 189 Flatbush Avenue
(block 1127, lot 12), 191 Flatbush Avenue
(block 1127, lot 11) and 618 Pacific Street
(block 1127, lot 18) and 193 Flatbush Avenue
(block 1127, lot 10) where buildings have
been demolished.
All of the protective measures requested
by the DOB have been installed.
The installation of scaffolding on the
Pacific and Dean Street facades at 800
Pacific Street (block 1129, lot 25) will be
completed. The double-shift abatement and
emergency demolition work will begin on the
parapets. This combination of work is
anticipated to last approximately six weeks.
Preparation for resuming abatement and
demolition activities will be underway.
Beginning Monday, June 25, 2007, the
northern sidewalk and parking lane of
Pacific Street between Carlton and
Vanderbilt Avenues will be closed. These
closures are required to allow for support
of excavation activities associated with the
LIRR relocation.
Beginning Monday, June 25, 2007, jersey
barriers will be set up as the fencing of
the construction area and steel to be used
in the SOE will be delivered. Drill rigs
will mobilize on the site as well.
The closures are being carried under the
necessary permits, issued by the Department
of Transportation on June 13, 2007
